Pioneers Post Report: Malaysia launches new Social Outcome Fund

Adam Pillsbury reports here on the new Social Outcome Fund launched by the Malaysian government to try to bolster its social economy. Worth just over half a million pounds, the Fund aims to reduce barriers to funding for ‘high potential’ social enterprises through its innovative payment mechanism. The Fund is designed to address a range of social issues identified by the Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, a government-affiliated agency, and to improve the impact of both existing and future social service provision.

This case study is a great example of how the public sector and social enterprises can work together to achieve the best results for the groups they seek to serve – the i-SEN team are watching with interest to see how this will develop!
